
Botswana Consumer Fair 2025
The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) is proud to participate at the 2025 Botswana Consumer Fair, held from the 25th – 31st August at Fairgrounds Holdings in Gaborone. This year’s theme, “Embracing Innovation and Technology for Economic Transition,” is aligned to HRDC’s commitment of leveraging on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enable the Council to achieve its strategic objectives and maintain a globally competitive workforce in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
HRDC utilise this platform to interact with stakeholders about the Council’s strategic initiates including: Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), focused on promoting workplace learning and skills development; Non-Credit Bearing Short Course (NCBS), focused on recognising industry specific training programmes; Labour Market Information System (LMIS), serving to provide policymakers, employers, job seekers, educators, and researchers with access to reliable and up-to-date information on different aspects of the labour market.
The Botswana Consumer Fair, hosted annually by Fairground Holdings since 2007, has become one of the Country’s most impactful platforms for enterprise growth, public engagement, Business-to-Business engagements and cultural exchange. With over 30,000 visitors expected, the fair offers market access for local products and services, trade and investment opportunities, and a vibrant mix of entertainment, youth zones, food courts, and health awareness campaigns.
Through its continued participation in this event, HRDC uphold its commitment to promoting training and skills development, empowering citizens on entrepreneurship and supporting businesses growth. As Botswana embraces the Fourth Industrial Revolution, HRDC remains committed to bridging the gap between academia and industry by promoting Institutions – Industry linked research, as well as enhancing access to career guidance and funding support, and promoting lifelong learning as a cornerstone of national development.
