TRADE UP NORTH EXPO 2024 IN FRANCISTOWN

The Human Resource Development Council was a key participant in the Trade Up North Mining, Manufacturing, and Construction Expo 2024 in Francistown. Professor Alinah K. Segobye, the Chief Executive Officer of HRDC, spoke at the Expo and emphasized that the skills required in the Mining, Manufacturing, and Construction sectors are evolving due to technological advancements, automation, and sustainability practices.

"As mining operations continue to advance in digitization and automation, the need for skilled workers in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and robotics is on the rise. This trend underscores the importance of staying ahead of the curve in acquiring specialized knowledge and skills in these cutting-edge technologies." Highlighted Professor Segobye.

In light of the ever-evolving nature of the industry, mining companies must prioritize investments in training programs and establish partnerships with educational institutions. This strategic approach will ensure that their workforce is adequately equipped with the essential skills required to meet the dynamic demands of the industry. The two-day expo concludes on the 24th of July 2024.
