NEW ARRANGEMENTS FOR RECOGNITION OF NON-CREDIT BEARING SHORT COURSES (NCBSCs)

Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) informs all Stakeholders that effective 1^st April 2021, recognition of Non – Credit Bearing Short Courses will no longer be provided by the Authority. The process of recognition of Non- Credit Bearing Short Courses will be undertaken by the Human Resource Development Council of Botswana (HRDC). The Council will provide the necessary details regarding the new process. ALL Education and Training Providers (ETPs) wishing to submit NCBSCs for recognition, should be registered and accredited by BQA.

Please note the following:

1. The validity period of the current recognised Non- Credit Bearing Short Courses will remain so until expiry.

2. All requirements for renewal of the existing Non- Credit Bearing Short Courses due after the 1st April 2021, will be handled by HRDC.

3. BQA will continue to process all received applications to completion.

 4. The Authority implores all registered and accredited ETPs who have submitted applications for the recognition of Non- Credit Bearing Short Courses to respond timeously on requests for additional information to facilitate the processing of applications timeously.
