Ms Matshepo Rapulane

Director, Human Resource

Ms Matshepo Rapulane is currently the Director, Human Resource at the Human Resource Development Council. She possesses strong background in human resource management. She started her career in Human Resource Management after attaining her Bachelor of Commerce Degree (majoring in Management at the University of Botswana in 1994.

Her additional educational qualifications are Masters of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Management (2001) from the University of Sheffield Hallam, England, UK and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Management Institute of Canada in 2010. She started her career at the Local Government working under the Local Authorities (i.e. Councils and Land Boards) for close to nine (9) years. She grew through the ranks from a Personal Officer, to the Senior Personnel Officer and then Principal Personnel Officer.

Ms Rapulane then joined the National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC) as the Human Resource & Administration Manager from 2004 to 2007. In pursuit of her professional and personal growth she then joined the Tertiary Education Council (T.E.C.) in 2007 as the Human Resource Manager. In 2012 she progressed to a position of leadership appointed as she was appointed as the Director, Human Resource, a motivating and challenging position.

At HRDC, her role entails people management, performance management, employee relations, training and development compensation and rewards; HR advise on policy and strategy; project management; budget and resource management; and HR support services with regards to staff welfare. She is a member of the Institute of People Management which empowers a professional membership body specialising in HR best practices.
