Director, Information Communication And Technology

Mr Vassilidias  was appointed Director Information & Communication  Technology in the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) effective 1st March 2017.   He Studied at University of Botswana where he   did BSC degree in Computer Science, University of Westminster in the UK, Postgraduate Certificate in Telecommunications Regulation, and Edith Cowen University in Australia where he Masters in Information Security and Intelligence.  Vassilidias’s former employer was Central Government, having served under two ministries being Office of the President and Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In HRDC Vassilidias’ roles among others include planning, organizing and coordination of  the provision of Information Technology (IT) service in an effective and efficient manner that will ensure maximum access to users. He creates proper work environment for the team and manage its resource for achieving its goals. He further participate in formulating, defining, reviewing and updating the strategic directions of HRDC.   Vassilidias  provides inputs to the preparation of HRDC’ strategic operating plans and budgets.  He also  develops and coordinates the implementation of the relevant Policy and strategy for the  conduct of the division’s mandate Align the division’s operations with the overall mission, vision and values of HRDC. Advise Head of Department, Deputy CEO or CEO on IT matters and undertake any other duties as delegated by the Head of Department, Deputy CEO or CEO Effective management Development and Compliance with established Systems, rules and regulations, procedures ,guidelines and instruments . Furthermore he advices Management of information systems and provision of IT support and lead the development and review of the Strategic information plan.
